Mis diagnosed eptopic pregnancy?

I recently went to my GP with severe abdominal pain, my GP did not examine me nor did she do any tests i.e blood pressure, urine, pulse etc. she just said the pain was due to a gastric thing! and gave me tablets for irritable bowel syndrome. The next morning I woke up in agony and was rushed to hospital, I had to then have emergency surgery for an eptopic pregnancy and removal of the fallopian tube because it had burst. Do you think I should of been examined properly?
