Traffic violation question?? ASAP?

I rear ended somebody a couple months ago and got a careless driving ticket. I thought my dad paid it off but it turns out that we still owe $40 and the DMV suspended my license. Will my high school find out about this? How do I get my license reinstated? Will this go off my record after I turn 18? Thanks.
