Allergy and Toxic mold epidemic?

I know of several people recently including myslef who have had to make trips the the hospital or doctor's office related to allergies and Toxic mold exposure. What on earth is causing this? My girlfriend had be rushed to the hospital for anaphylactic shock. Its the first time that this has happened to her! She is really cared! She described it as "a felling she would not wish on her worst enemy!" A friend of mine is vomiting due to allergic reactions. Why all of a sudden people are finding it hard to breathe? Some say the environment. I agree that pollution, both indoor and outdoor is not the best thing for your health. But Never in my life did I ever think I would find myself in an emergency room over mold and allergies!
