American men and Underarm hair!???

Well I'm European and i shave my armpits and most of my friends do it too, American men don't do it because they think that it's "gay". I find male and female armpits gross, and it's kind of weird that some people think that men who shave their armpits are gay or wanna look like teenagers but nobody says that women who shave their armpits are s and want to look like little girls.
