How does America's insatiable demand for narcotics contribute toward the illegal immigration crisis?

As long as you want to lay blame, how about laying it on drug traffickers, who target young kids to get them hooked. Drugs, after all, are ADDICTIVE and gangs are actively seeking out young users to buy and young traffickers to sell, the latter because they don't get the same harsh penalties that adults do. For that matter, drug traffickers also design new drugs, specifically to cirvent laws and to do a better job of getting kids hooked. Of course, the same criminals that engage in producing and selling illegal drugs are often involved in other criminal activities such as human smuggling. They may even use the illegal aliens to carry the contraband. I've even heard that people smuggling is preferred because, if stopped, the people will run away. Drugs can't. By the way, there's a great deal of demand in the U.S. for smart, talented people such as IT engineers, doctors, etc. How come Mexico can't seem to fill THAT demand?
