How long does it take for a judge to make a decision,or notify me?

Well i was considering giving up my son for adoption,huge mistake that i will never consider again,and the couple have only Temporary Guardianship of him right now. Well i signed and turned in the Objection to Guardianship. I went to the hearing just last Tuesday(9 days ago)and the judge said that he'll make a decision soon on who gets custody,and that it could be out of his jurisdiction..not sure what that means,sorry but i am slow when it comes to court,it's so confusing. So i went home and i am still waiting to hear something. Should i have heard something by now? And how will i be notified,by mail or what? Will it be another hearing? Well i hope you can help me out,I'm really trying to get my son back. Thanks so much
