On blackberry curve, message saying "your handheld has been registered with the wireless network?

I have a Blackberry curve, and received a message from "blackberry registration" saying your handheld has been registered with the wireless network. I was not connecting anything to my computer. I was not even touching my phone. My phone froze and shut off and then kicked back on. Was someone hacking my phone, or what is going on?
