We got married late July 2009 should we file taxes jointly?

My husband and I got married July of 09. I have a daughter and had a full time jon the whole year and hes in the military no children.Should we file seperate, and do it jointly next year, or should we just file jointly. will they consider me being single for 7 months of the year and give me the credits i usually get when I was single, or will they just do it like we where married all year and will I possibly get less of a return if we file jointly? thanks.
